We blend stunning architecture with practicality to create homes for our clients in North Carolina that are one-of-a-kind.
When it comes to building a new home, it all starts with a vision. However, there has to be a way to take this vision and turn it into a physical structure complete with windows, doors, and walls. This is the purpose of architecture – to conjoin what you want your custom home to look like with plans that can turn it into a reality.
At Christopher-Thomas Construction, Inc., we blend stunning architecture with practicality to create homes for our clients in North Carolina that are one-of-a-kind. If you are interesting in finding a house you can finally call “home,” but have yet to find one currently on the market that complements your specific needs, we encourage you to turn to us.
With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, our owner and founder, Chris Wright, is well-versed in basic architectural principles and understands how they need to be applied to every building project we are presented with. We are confident that you will benefit from Chris’ expertise, as well as the proven processes we abide by while drafting and finalizing home plans.
Tips for Creating the Perfect Home Design
You want your custom home to turn out perfect. Long before our team prepares the foundation or starts framing, you have to outline your design with the help of our architect to make this happen. Here are a few tips for making the architectural details of your home align with your idea of your dream home:
- Think about the future—Do you plan on retiring in 5 or 10 years? Do you want to add to your family in the near future? Consider what lies ahead when meeting with our architect to make sure your house will meet your needs now and in the years to come.
- Maximize your lot—If you already have a lot, maximize its features. For example, if your lot sits on a stunning area with plenty of trees, position your living room to face this area instead of placing it directly in front of the road.
- Consider flow—You wouldn’t want your master bedroom right off of your kitchen or your children’s bedrooms right by the back door. Work with our architect to come up with a general flow for your floor plan that works with your lifestyle.
- Prioritize what you really want—If a chef’s kitchen is what you really want, don’t pour your entire budget into your master bathroom. And, if you want a huge loft for a playroom, consider downsizing your kitchen. Think about what you really want out of your home as you make plans for the layout.
